Born in South America, McCarthy has gathered influences from a wide cross-section of the greater pan-American roots music family tree in his travels, performing over a thousand shows across the country and overseas. His music combines early country, bluegrass, delta blues, traditional folk, 70s jam, Bolivian folklore and even thrash metal elements on electrified steel string acoustic guitar.
